how to increase attempt in cat? 2 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
hello sir...getting good score in cat according to me has 2 facets one is "accuracy" and the 2nd one is "attempt".ive always been good on the accuracy part but still after one year of preparation i lag on the number of questions i attempt....in almost every test my attempt varies from 30 to 35 questions with around 80% accuracy...now with cat going for 65 questions in 135 mins i feel if i could increase this attempt to 40+ with same accuracy it would suffice my purpose.

my major problem is that i take more than required time to read and grasp a ques. in quant and AR so in the end even though i know more questions i still am not able to attempt all of them...please tell me what precisely i need to do.

thank you

The mantra for cracking CAT is to aim for atleast 50% marks. If you get that you will surely get i/v calls. So with 65 questions and 80% accuracy you need to attempt 45-46 questions. Now to increase your speed you can do following things :

1. Give section tests with 30 minutes time and try to attempt as much as you can. Initially dont worry abt the accuracy. After attempting the test analyse that whether u missed any easy question, what was ur strategy attempting question while you were constrained.
2. Try to solve questions without any paper work. This technique help you even more now since CAT is online. But bcoz there is not much time left to practice, i wud say just experiment with this technique for a few days... continue only if it helps.
