Hi
Certificates are just a proof of your learning. But it is not necessary and sufficient unless you have the concepts and programming skills.
You can join the Summer Internship program to do projects and interact with industry stalwarts.
I would suggest you not to worry about Interviews at this point, focus on your learnings and later after your 3rd year, we will help you in your interview preparation also.
In the mean time you can go through the interview experiences and questions posted on CareerInfoline.com.
Hope this is helpful!

Hi Dharam,
Companies do not ask for certificates usually unless they doubt someone.
Moreover you need to showcase them your programming skills, if you can do that then even no need of saying that you have a certificate.
If case you have a Microsoft certified certification, then yes it matters.
Java projects, you can do some good projects where you make a user interface or interact with database, etc.
To overcome interview fear: As suggested by my friend, go through the experiences of other people and learn what they have mentioned. You can also try some basic questions in front of mirror,eg: Describe yourself.Introduce yourself, etc.
All the best.

To start with you can make a small form.
In this form you will have to give options to register and login.
You will be interacting with database to register the users and based on registered users, you will be allowed to login.
This is the most basic form which usually all the applications are required to have.
Hope it will help you to make a good beginning.
All the best!
