Hello Friends,

Here is my peice of experience..

Just like any other fresher i had my set of inhibitions going to (venue for our joint campus placement). The day began with a casual yet
very intriguing PPT by Mr. Sudhir Mishra( Team lead for infy that day). Although being casual whole throughout the PPT, by the end of it
he announced the placement procedure which honestly got on my nerves(i guess most students in dat room wud agree with me). The procedure had
2 rounds
1. Aptitude Test
2. HR interview

The Aptitude test had 2 parts viz Reasoning and Verbal. Reasoning part having 30 questions to be answered in 40 mins and verbal section had
40 questions to be answered in 35 mins.
For someone who is in touch wid basic reasoning exercises, mayb by doing R.S.Aggarwal or any odr source, reasoning portion ws do-able.
Verbal section lived upto its expectations of being sumwhat dicey.
However if d options evaluated carefully then even dis section ws do-able.

After the test came d results. I being one of the lucky guys whoz names were called out that evening! The next step was the HR interview.

Mine ws very casual. Nothing was asked from technical portion. Here is how my interview went..

I entered the interview room, greeted my interviewee with a smile and ws asked to hav a seat. My resume ws asked for then.

then began d questioning part..

Q. Introduce urself
A. I introduced myself with mentioning sumthng abt my academics abt my family and my interests( jst to tell her wat kind of person m I)

Then she went thru my resume...

Q. Ok anuj u have written in ur resume dat u read fiction novels. Which recent novel have u read?
A. Told her the name( it ws 2 STATES by Chetan Bhagat)

Q. Cud u tell me sumthng abt the novel so that i read it too..?
A. I gave her the gist of the novel n sum funny points which mite have made her intrested.

Q. Then i ws asked 2 tell abt my assets.
A. Gave her 2-3 plus points of mine( whta i had written in the resume).

Q. Then i ws asked 2 exemplify them.( this is sumwhat tricky if u r'nt prepared for such questions)
A. I inquired if some personal events will do. Then i gave her some examples from general life.

Q. Then i ws asked if i ws intrested in managing events( coz my resume told her that i ws part of organizing team for a seminar)
A. I gave her a yes.

Q. Then i ws asked if i faced ny problem while organizing such events( again i ws being chekd if m honest wid my resume)
A. Told her an incident( to b honest it ws cooked up ;-) )

Q. Then i ws asked wat is one quality that i c in an employee so that he can b considered an asset for the company.
A. I said "Time management" and justified the same.

Q. Then i ws asked to give an example which showed that i had a motivating nature( agn asked from my resume).
A. Answered it.

Thats all from the interview part. As u cn c nt a single question from technical, however i want to add that sum of my frnds were asked abt
technical thngs too..

As my experience highlights the importance of being true to ur resume so dats all i cn say. Know wat ever u are writing and b prepared that
u'll b asked to exemplify them. Consult sumone when u prepare a resume( it does help :-) )

And this is it..!!!
Den came d magical moment when my name ws in d final list and i ws tagged with d brand name of INFOscion..

In the end, not sounding lyk a geek, all i can say after dat day is-
Theres no substitute for knowledge and this gives u the confidence to drive thru... :-)
