I am Akash kaushik and appeared for Tech Mahindra placement drive on 22nd Feb 2011.

Here is my experience which I want to share with you all. 

Tech Mahindra selection process is one of fair and transparent procedure to select candidates.

It has written test , then selected student have to pass through Technical Interview...and then Personal interview. 

Written test:- 

It has two tests:-

i) Aptitude test - it has 3 modules

                  a)Logical reasoning- 35 questions...

                    series, figure , alphabetical problem. these are easy but you have to take care of time

                  b)non-verbal- 20 question

                  c) quantitative- 15 question -mainly loss and profit, compound interest and age prob

       For all these you are provided 40 min so although question are easy the difference lie how many questions you attempt correctly.

    I solved 44 questions correctly ,i made sure that i had enough time to answer(blind guess) rest question. 

ii) verbal test- it comprises 100 questions divided in 9 modules about tenses , prepositions, articles , modals..and comprehension

  This portion is very easy but i recommend you to read 'wren n martin' for atleast 2 days. 
 

I was unsure whether i would be selected or not...but within 20 min result was announced and I was selected for technical interview.

I was confident although I am not technically sound ..but I knew I can explain them the logic confidently 

I entered the room(knock the door if it is closed) 

me-good evening sir. 

TechM Interviewer -good evening Akash. 

me-may i sit sir 

Interviewer -yeah,of course 

me-thank u sir 

Interviewer -how was the test? 

me- it was nice. 

Interviewer -nice means ? 

me- sir , i enjoyed the whole experience..the nervousness,the excitement and the anxiety. 

Then he asked me about my project..I explained it to him with confidence

then he asked bout my role in project, i answered it and explained my role as coder. 

Then he asked me to write code for redirection and jdbc odbc connection. 

Then he asked some general question as

like chief minister of Karnataka and Kerala...i answered them correctly although the pronounciation did cause some humor which i think goes in my favor. 

Interviewer -do u have any queries? 

I asked about training location. 
 

Then i waited for 3 hrs to hear the result and it was pleasant to knew that i was selected for HR interview, as i knew technical was my weak point and i passed it so it wouldn't be hard for me to go through HR. 

The HR interviewer is a smart person and make interviewees to perform several tasks like group discussion, marketing any product(e.g stapler),extempore.

I prepared the topic 'journey of cricket' if in case he said me to choose topic for myself.

we(me with 4 other) entered the interview room. 

we took our seats then he asked us to introduce ourselves

after that he said adjacent people to decide a topic for the other. 

I got a topic on 'how India can develop'

I took 1 min

and then i spoke on it.

I knew i was good...so i waited outside for the result

then at 00:30 am result was announced and i was among the 21 people who got selected out of 167 students. 

I was happy. 

so this is my experience, hope it will benefit you.
